QUIZ RECAP

So great to be together and enjoy community here at Arriba, especially during these times! Good to see familiar faces and meet new people.

We had 5 teams this evening. It was still nice and bright outside when we started. Mike Trout's Golf Ball, Powell's Pals, and My Corona were back again to play. Joining us for the first time were OBAG and Jacky Anus.

Round #2 was super challenging for most of the teams - identifying the Superbowl MVP. The Guess Who round was also tricky, with no one guessing Ned Flanders correctly until the 4 and 2 point clue. The last round listing the periodic chart elements was difficult as well. Though it was a tougher quiz, they had a good time struggling through it.

My Corona successfully doubled or nothing in Round #6 matching the city to its airport, resulting in a 1st place win once again! And again, Powell's Pals is undefeated as 2nd place. And Mike Trout's Golf Ball ended up in 3rd place because they persevered til the end!

In a world...where fear is spreading... some stay isolated at home...while 4 brave teams gather...for a night...of...TRIVIA!

It was great to see Powell's Pals back again as well as a couple guys again from My Corona. Mike Trout's Golf Ball was a one person team ready to play. BEG joined us in Round 2 for several rounds.

The scores were all close for the first half. The Guess Who Round #4 had everyone stumped. There was no double or nothings this evening. My Corona kept the lead and finished in 1st place, Powell's Pals in 2nd again, and Mike Trout's Golf Ball in 3rd. Great job everyone!

Another fun evening here at Arriba Cantina.

Keep coming back Monday nights! You are welcomed here and we'll make sure of that. Sometimes, while our world can be stressful and worrisome, the best thing to do is come together as a community and have fun.

QUIZ RECAP

Arriba! Meaning "up" or "above" in Spanish, it also has the sense of "Let's go! Hooray!" And that is the appropriate cheer for this first night of King Trivia at Arriba Cantina.

I am quite excited to be the regular Quizmaster here. Some time after talking with them about having King Trivia there, my wife saw the sign that it was happening! I had envisioned hosting at a place like this that is right in our neighborhood. In fact, this is a 5 minute walk from our home! (I timed it last night) And here we are!

Not knowing what to expect for the first night, I walked toward the door and was amazed by the crowd already here. Just about all of them were ready to play. As time went on, more trickled in for the evening of trivia here. I was soon joined by my friend Rachael who assists me with the correcting & scoring and also my wife Esther who came to hang out. When it was time to start, we had 9 teams ready to go!

Resting Quiz Face not only had one of, if not the best, team names, but they took the lead in Round #1. As we went through a few more rounds, it was apparent that Powell's Pals was close right behind them. All the players of every team put their heads together and did their best, as you see from these photos. Round #6 made a huge difference as half the teams doubled down. In the end, it was Fat Mondays who came in 1st place and Powell's Pals in 2nd.

It was a friendly fun-filled evening of trivia here at Arriba Cantina. Owners Kirk and Ryan worked hard to make sure everyone was served and taken care of. Thanks to them and to all those who came out to play trivia together at this neighborhood gathering place. I look forward to the Mondays to come.
