This week's trivia night at Brouwerij West was marked by an affinity for Super Heroes. As the crowd started to assemble you could feel the excitement that we were only one day away from the new Avengers movie. Teams buzzed about it, some teams even wore Spiderman shirts! You could tell that many people in the room were just waiting anxiously for a Marvel-related question. The questions did not disappoint because right out of the gate the game started with a question about Thor actor, Chris Hemsworth. Inspired by Marvel pride and that first question one team, Matt's Baby, took it upon themselves to answer "Chris Hemsworth" anytime they didn't know the answer to a question. Unfortunately, after the first question the game became relatively void of super heroes. During this time Teachers out on a School Night rose to first and kept the lead for many rounds. Finally, after anxiously waiting for more Avengers questions for 6 rounds we came to our big super hero question of the night in round 7. Many teams took the opportunity to double or nothing and The Mild Stallions rocketed to the lead. They were closely followed by 99 Problems but the Beer Ain't One and the Brewsual Suspects. We will continue to save the world one trivia question at a time next week at Brouwerij West!

This week at Brouwerij West we were lucky enough to have not one, but two dogs joining in the fun. The dogs' occasional barking and adorable faces, however, did not distract The Misters Sparkle who scored big and got first place. For second and third place, we had a tie between 99 Problems but the Beer Aint One and The Brewsual Suspects. 99 Problems but the Beer Ain't One won the tiebreaker and was able to get second place for the second week in a row.
All of our teams scored big and had a successful night with many impressive rounds. Round 6 could have been the game-changer that many teams needed if they would have done a double-or-nothing, but we had only one team double-or-nothing in spite of the fact that 6 teams got all questions correct. We can only hope that next week teams do equally well and that they continue to bring their dogs!

We had a competitive night at Brouwerij West this week. Lots of teams joined the fight, but Here for the Beer stole first place, 99 Problems but the Beer Ain't One took second, and The Rural Juror was able to snag third. The game was dramatic with teams constantly changing places. In one of the most impressive feats, The Rural Juror rose from tenth place in the first several rounds to third place by the end. Their saving grace happened in round 5 when they were the only team to successfully double or nothing. The tensions may have been high, but that didn't stop several teams from having a great sense of humor, both in their team names and inventive answers. I am glad to be the new Quizmaster for Brouwerij West and I look forward to witnessing next week's trivia showdown!
