Hot out the gate Tequila Mockingbirds pulled ahead with a double, far outpacing their oft-rivals Running with Caesars who also attempted to double, but missed, taking an early zero. The second round was a bit trickier as teams relied on their player's past AP Chemistry knowledge, without enough confidence to attempt doubles (wisely). Running with Caesars was back with fury as the first team to answer, and the only team to score 8 points in round four. Having a middling game so far, the Kids' Table trebuchet'd into the lead with the only double attempt of round 5, adding 10 points over their nearest round competitor, and then - what's this, repeating it in round seven?! a feat that secured them first place, but perhaps not as triumphant as Caesars', who, only climbing to second to last after their round 4 jump, doubled in round 7, secured every answer and achieved THIRD PLACE!!!! this was one for the books.

Birthday Party Satan, Kids' Table and Running with Caesars were hot out the gare with doubles, but in round 2, There's always next week, ketchup, and Quiz Kid Donnie Smith would join them with a higher-value investment. In round 3 confidence led some astray as all but one team tried to double and not all successfully. The scores piling up meant some folks needed to try and cover ground, resulting in more than a few -1 in round 4. Stinging from penalties, no one tried doubling in 5, which ended up being rather wise, but a score mode of 9 kept teams pushing ahead. Pacific courier doubled in round 2, but was unable to overtake TANW and Tequila Mockingbirds, who also capitalized on the high-point round, the latter securing enough points to establish and retain first place!

It was a quiet night, but would it stay that way with the return of some old favorites now competing under the moniker "what really happened"?

Teams blew through round one as if it were bush league Trivia scoffing all the way through round two. Those teams with the love of poetry and television rose above the crowd and dominated round three. Teams played round four quite conservatively, knowing the real magic was to come with three rounds of 20 point doubles, but would they be able to secure them? The kids table jumped up in the standings after round 5, but round seven proved out of their wheelhouse, and all of the teams found Cantrips strewn about the path as they fell unsuspectingly into traps of biblical proportion.

The prudent "Tequila Mockingbirds" , " quiz Kid Donnie Smith" led the way, and "what really happened" triumphantly returned to the podium despite the zero score in the final round.
