Wow what an exciting Thanksgiving night at Barney's Beanery in Pasadena! It was anybody's game right up until the end. At least for everyone except the Dog Droppers. They got a perfect 6 in round 1, and kept the lead throughout the game. After that the fight was for 2nd and 3rd. Balls McLongcock was short on answers as he got a 1 in round 1 along with Tiki and the Foreigners. The beautiful and vivacious Pastrixes and the high partying Turkey Gobblers got 3s in round 1.

Round 2 had all 5s and 6s for everyone except the Dog Droppers, who got a successful double down of 16. subsequent rounds were literally all over the board as many gambled with double downs, losing and winning. There was just no knowing where this was going, and then we really got hit with a curve ball as the fabulous Vanderpumps joined us in round 5 and kicked butt! A 6 in round 5 wasn't too threatening, but then a successful double down in 6 put them ahead of 2 teams with a 26 and nipping at the heels of Tiki who had 29.

Round 7 was the deciding factor. We needed the first 10 offices in the line of succession for President. The brilliant Vanderpumps were one of the only few to to do amazing in that round. Number 3 was President Pro Tempore of the Senate. Vanderpumps had Speaker of the Senate. In essence, I knew it mus the same thing, they clearly knew what they were talking about it. But could I give it to them? I wasn't sure. Was it the same thing? I desperately searched Google for my answer - to no avail! Nowhere was my question asked or answered! I searched again. NOTHING?! REALLY?! The Goo failed me! I had to make a judgement call. Tiki had them all exactly right. They forgot to add #10, but the first 9 were perfect. Precision is key. If someone had it, that was it. I agonized, it hurt, but I had to mark it wrong, and since they doubled down, Vanderpumps got 0 for the round! It was literally the difference between finishing third and not placing! It just shows you how anything can happen! So good ol' Balls McLongcock finished third even with 2 zeros! His genius 20 in 6 and 9 in 5 was enough for a come from the middle victory for 3rd! And even though Dog Droppers dropped a 1 for round 7, it was still enough to finish first and get the coveted $100 gift certificate and bragging rights!

For the drinking round, we had tons of enthusiastic folks come up to do their best turkey impression. We even had one person do it who wasn't even playing trivia, just cause it was fun to gobble into the mic! We had solos and duos; the Vanderpumps had a gobbler and one person wiggling and flapping her best feather ruffle. She was almost overly enthusiastic as she fell once after flapping to hard, but she got right back up and did it again. But, almost as if it was foretold, the Turkey Gobblers won the drinking round with their duet of gobblers, with one player squatting and doing a perfect nod, peck, waddle and gobble! What entertainment! Thanks Turkey Gobblers, you were so awesome!
