Curveballs abound, as teams had to step up to the plate and pivot their attention. In deference to 'Merica's favourite passtime, we started with the written rounds first! This shift in habit threw some for a loop, but others were able to go forth, unfazed and secure some written-round double downs, most notably the Brusual Suspects, who did so not once, but twice - and then a third time in a row! The Quizcky Sours, an anachronistically sunny-dispositioned duo were able to score high and well, peppering in two double-downs - one in the eleventh hour - and launched themselves into contention, followed by Hot for Teacher squeaking into third place with only a one -point difference over fourth place (see? those bonus points really help!
