On Wednesday night May 15th College Bar & Grill had 5 teams compete for their chance to win $100 dollars! Our teams for the evening were Team One & Only, Lamda Gama, Thund3rCatz, Smatinis, and Buy A Beet, they're good.
In Round 1 3 of our 5 teams finished with a tie for third with 4 points total. Lamda Gama finshed in second with 5 points and the Thund3rCatz in first with 6 points. A very close race to start off the evening with our general knowledge.
It seems our teams were not all familiar with the famous mustaches of Round 2. Lamda Gama got the most correct in this round, getting 7 of the 8 answers correct. The three way tie broke down into a two way tie for fourth place with Team One & Only and Buy A Beer at 7 points.
Team Lambda Gama used their Double or Nothing in Round Three and earned their team an additional 12 points, keeping their first place title now with 24 points!
Round 4 was a mixed round for these teams. The Samtinis and Buy A Beer each guessed our mystery person and earned their teams 8 points each! Team One & Only got it after our fourth clue, earning their team an additional 4 points. While Lambda Gama and Thund3rCatz guessed incorrectly, effectively losing a point for their teams. By this point in the game Buy A Beer, they're good was in first place with 27 points. In second was Lambda Gama with 23 points, while the Smartinis followed closely behind in third with 22 points. In fourth were the Thund3rCats with 17 points. While Team One & Only remained in fifth with 15 points.
In Round 5 team Lambda Gama did not get any of their answers correct, after earning no points for this round they dropped out of the game finishing with 25 points total (those two extra points for returning my pen). 3 out of the 4 remaining teams correctly guessed the commonality of the answers!
The remaining teams who had not used their Double or Nothing plays up to this point all decided to play it during Round 6. This strategy did not work for the Smartinis or Team One & Only, however it did play out well for the Thund3rCatz!
In Round 7 almost all of the answers written by each team were correct, with the only incorrect answer that was written being Palestine. By the end of the game in fifth place was Lambda Gama. In fourth was Team One & Only, also with 25 points but placed in fourth for finishing out the game. Initially there was a tie for second place between Thund3rCatz and the Smatinis. After having a member from each team come up to answer our tie breaking question, which asked how many words were in George Orwell's Animal Farm, Thund3rCatz answered 15,00 while Smatrtinis guessed 22,000. The correct answer was 29,966 which meant that because the Smartinis had the closest guess they won the tie breaker! Placing Thund3rCatz in third, Smartinis in second, and Buy A Beer, they're good in first place with 56 points!
