Hey -- turn that frown upside down!

The Dodgers may have lost (yet another attempt at a championship run for the Fall Classic) BUT you guys all won at trivia!

Handouts early on proved y'all knew your math -- and maybe this QM is glad she didn't have to announce the answers to that one because who knows how I would have translated those symbols out loud. You woulda known if I was referring to "line with squiggle over it"? Or "very pointy E"?

Anyways, a BIG BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to PAUL and his crew who came to join us for the first time ever for trivia night and had loads of fun. They've only ever been to GOAL on weekends -- so they gonna start coming Wednesdays now, too 🙂 they left in a hearty third place, knowing their Presidents. And maybe would have had higher scoring if I hadn't over-optimistically told Paul the engineer he could double down on the math handout.

And I Lost My Virginity At... were the real troopers of the night, waiting out the long Dodgers game for our real game of the night. They nabbed Second Place!

GOAL, however, got (not my house but) The White House at the 10 point clue and also soldiered on with two successful double-downs for Scooby Dooby Doo and Presidents. What an eclectic mix of knowledge you guys certainly have!

My personal favorite parts of the night were when I Lost My Virginity At... asked what "the Apollo of dogs" meant -- wondering "like the spaceship?"

To which I conjectured, "perhaps referring to the Greek mythology of gods and goddesses"

To which I Googled, and discovered that the breed of dog is known as the Apollo of dogs for their "stately grace and courage."

Also I was as bad as Aidy Bryant laughing through a sketch when I had to read, "What 2006 Disney live-action film featured a 300-year-old bearded collie?"

Sorry, that just sounds way too adorable.

Let's all watch The Shaggy Dog next week!

Cuz we sure won't be watching any more Dodger games.

The best way to get through pain in life, as this QM has learned early on in her life, is to laugh.

Here's a joke Azijanai told me while we were waiting --

"What's the spookiest thing in October? For Dodgers fans, trying to watch them survive a postseason game."

Double sorry -- ya QM's a G's fan who wanted to get us to trivia so...maybe she was cheering for the other team...but we're all friends here, no matter what colors we wear 🙂 And there were plentya National fans who ended the night on a high note.

That's what we love about GOAL -- we accept and embrace everyone.

And we are the champions, my friend.
