The Pub at Golden Road is a full-service, family-friendly environment located just a stone’s throw from Griffith Park in Atwater Village. Open 7 days a week, The Pub offers ample indoor and outdoor seating, over a dozen Golden Road beers on tap, and games for the young (and young at heart).
An excellent night of strong performances throughout the side yard patio this week at Golden Road Brewery in Glendale was highlighted by multiple lead changes and several successful double-or-nothing gambits.
Garbagetown, Gingko 1997 and Cruisin' For a Bruisin' all doubled right out of the gate to share a three-way lead with 12 points. But a second successful double in round two left the Cruisin' crew alone in first with 28, followed by Fargo Fartindale with 22!
Round three sees the Fargo Farts take a one-point lead (34 points) over Cruisin' and The Bad Explainers (33). A successful double in round five and suddenly Gingko 1997 emerges with the lead and 61 solid points! But that lead didn't last long! Round six arrived, and Fargo comes roaring back to take the lead with Garbagetown and Gingko just three points back!
Round seven ended with Fargo and Cruisin' deadlocked at 82, and a tiebreaker question was required to settle the issue once and for all! PHEW!! That was exciting!!
Meanwhile, it's worth noting that one team - Green Book It! - attempted unsuccessful doubles in the 1st, 2nd and 5th rounds, and still managed to end the night with a respectable 62 points!! Sheesh! That seems un-possible!! But it's true!
