About Hop Merchants Bottle Shop & Taproom

Hop Merchants Bottle Shop & Taproom is a craft beer bottle shop and tasting room. We offer 16 rotating taps of Los Angeles-area beer as well as a wide variety of bottles and cans from your favorite independent breweries, which you can purchase to go or to enjoy in-house (with $1.50 corkage).  We also have an open food policy, meaning outside food is welcome and delivery is even encouraged. It's all good!

Located in the NoHo Arts District of North Hollywood, California, our mission is to channel our passion for great beer, community, and create a fun, chill atmosphere for people to hang, drink, shop and debate the deeper mysteries of life...such as who would win in a fistfight between Batman and Captain America? What's the difference between partly cloudy and partly sunny?  If the Zombie Apocalypse started today, what would be your weapon of choice?  Why are there no such thing as B batteries?  If humans evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?

What a wonderful Wednesday for trivia!

Once again, teams came ready to play. We had a lot of new teams which is always fun (even though we love our regulars). This week was challenging but teams put their heads together to pull through round after round. 

Round 1 started out promising with half of the teams getting all 6 questions correct (unfortunately no double downs). Round 2 was no different. Teams really knew their blue characters, but thanks to Steve's address to us millenials, we had to remove Blue's Clues (a giveaway). Round 3 gave teams a bit of a challenge, but I was proud of my fellow proud Croc wearers -- all teams were successful on this one! 

But the secret to separating the pack continues to be the power of the double-down. 3rd Most Famous Groundhogs in Pennsylvania successfully double-downed 4 times and remained in the league throughout all 7 Rounds. If the 3rd most famous groundhogs continue to win, we should be scared for Feburary when Punxsutawney Phil comes out to play.
