QUIZ RECAP
It was great to be back at Rescue and another round of King Trivia… and it’s my pleasure to provide a recap of the game that sounds like it was more fun than a clown car at a drive-thru:
Round One: Balutefisk and There’s no crying in trivia took the early lead with successful Doubles, proving they’re not just good at eating weird eggs—they’re good at cracking general knowledge questions too. The rest just were left in awe at the brilliance of those two teams.
Round Two: There’s no crying in trivia claimed the top spot, flexing their encyclopedic knowledge of Floridian celebrities—because if there’s one thing they know, it’s how to handle Florida Man and his A-list friends.
Round Three: Enter The B Sharps, who soared to first, out-singing the competition in the oddly specific “Arby’s and Music Producers” category. Who knew roast beef and beats could coexist? The other teams were left scratching their heads—and maybe craving curly fries.
Round Four: Balutefisk made a comeback, conjuring up a lead in the David Blaine round. Turns out, disappearing acts and egg-eating go hand-in-hand. The Freedom Cows tried to levitate their way up the scoreboard but ended up grounded like a cheap hot air balloon.
Round Five: Balutefisk held strong while There’s no crying in trivia clawed their way back to second, thriving in the animal groups round. Who knew “a parliament of owls” would finally pay off for someone? Meanwhile, the Mile High Club kept it classy, proving the only group they belong to is “flights delayed at Denver International.”
Drinking Round: There’s no crying in trivia absolutely crushed it at Hi/Lo, proving that while they may cry in trivia, they do not cry over cocktails. Balutefisk could only sip in envy as their lead got just a little shakier.
Round Six: Balutefisk rallied again, turning their knowledge of Latin phrases into a triumphant “veni, vidi, vici.” The other teams mostly muttered “et tu, Balutefisk?” as they lagged behind.
Round Seven: In a final twist, There’s no crying in trivia clawed their way to victory in the crayon colors round. They outshaded Balutefisk with ease, proving they could name-drop Burnt Sienna like it was a Kardashian. Meanwhile, The Edjuh Macayders learned the hard way that “chartreuse” is not a Pokémon. Congrats to There’s no crying in trivia for taking the checkered flag tonight!
And there you have it: eight teams, seven rounds, and one drinking round to rule them all. Balutefisk and There’s no crying in trivia duked it out all night, but only one could leave with the trivia crown—just don’t let David Blaine make it disappear.
See you next week!
