QUIZ RECAP

A rowdy, 6-team showdown of supreme smarts (and occasional lucky guesses) went down in an epic 7-round slugfest, plus a booze-fueled battle royale in between. Let’s see how the night unfolded:

Round One: Right out of the gate, My date went to another trivia and KABAM! shared the lead, proving they had broad knowledge across the board. They dominated General Questions, which is impressive considering one of them was clearly nursing emotional wounds.

Round Two: KABAM! stormed ahead solo, flexing their brainpower identifying black intellectuals. Apparently, they’ve been paying attention in class—or just watched a lot of documentaries narrated by Samuel L. Jackson.

Round Three: KABAM! remained on top, conquering an oddly specific combo of music documentaries and coins. Turns out, they know their quarters AND their Questlove. Coincidence? We think not.

Round Four: KABAM! continued their reign, breezing through GUESS WHO (Audrey Hepburn) like they grew up in a Breakfast at Tiffany’s bootcamp. Somewhere, a fashionably dressed ghost whispered, “Darling, I’m impressed.”

Round Five: KABAM! once again proved unstoppable, this time annihilating a category where every answer connected to The Manhattan Project. Either they’re nuclear physicists or they’ve been secretly preparing for this moment their entire lives.

Drinking Round: This was where things got really intense. The Bootyrunners clinched victory on a Super Bowl question, sending the crowd into a frenzy. But that wasn’t enough—they had to throw down in an epic Roshambo (rock-paper-scissors) duel against My date went to another trivia. After a legendary back-and-forth, the Bootyrunners emerged victorious, their livers slightly worse for wear but their spirits (and alcohol levels) soaring.

Round Six: The momentum shifted! The Spicy Penguins snatched the lead with their bizarrely deep knowledge of animal leg count. No one knows why they knew exactly how many legs a scorpion, a kangaroo, and a certain species of centipede have, but they did, and they made it count. Seriously? Five legs on a red kangaroo?

Round Seven: The Spicy Penguins held onto their lead, expertly navigating the biblical madness of the 10 plagues of Egypt. Frogs? Got it. Darkness? Easy. Rivers of blood? Child’s play. Their uncanny familiarity with biblical devastation sealed their win, leaving the rest of the teams to wonder if they should start studying ancient texts or just accept their defeat.

In the end, The Spicy Penguins reigned supreme, but all the teams left with their heads high, their glasses empty, and their dignity mostly intact. Cheers to another night of legendary trivia! 🍻
