Trivia Night Recap: The Battle of the Brainy and Boozy!

Nine teams entered, only one could claim the trivia throne. But before we get to the end, let’s relive the chaos, shall we?

Round One – General Knowledge, aka “How much random stuff do you know?” The Spicy Penguins came in hot, but Quizard of Oz clicked their heels three times and tied for first.

Round Two – Alliterative Name People. Turns out, Quizard of Oz knows their Pablo Picassos from their Lucy Lus, and they seized sole control of first place.

Round Three – Keys and Alicias. As the teams scrambled to recall how many famous people are named Alicia, Quizard of Oz continued their iron-fisted rule, making the competition look like an out-of-tune piano.

Round Four – The Mystery Round, featuring Wordle! The Spicy Penguins must have played their fair share of five-letter guesses because they tied Quizard of Oz for the top spot again. Meanwhile, Team Deez was heard muttering, “If only the answer had been ‘NUTS.’”

Round Five – A “Find the Connection” round all about basketball slang. The Spicy Penguins got dunked on, and Quizard of Oz kept their lead, proving they’re the MVPs of useless knowledge.

Drinking Round – Time for a boozy intermission! There’s No Crying in Trivia chugged their way to glory by proving they knew more about peanut butter and jelly sandwiches than anyone should reasonably admit. Sweet Dreams (Are Made of Quiz) tried to protest, but unfortunately, “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” was not an acceptable answer.

Round Six – Matching band members to their bands. Turns out, Quizard of Oz knows their Jaggers from their Hetfields, and they kept their grip on first place while EasyMoneySniper started to wonder if their name was a lie.

Round Seven – Happy Countries! The Quizard of Oz finished strong, proving that they not only know their trivia but also which countries have the most serotonin in their national GDP.

Tie Round – To break the 3rd place tie, it all came down to this: Sweet Dreams (Are Made of Quiz) versus The Spicy Penguins in a showdown over Lake Baikal - how low can you go? Apparently, Sweet Dreams can go really low, because they snatched the tie-breaker win. The Penguins waddled away in disappointment.

And that’s a wrap, folks! Quizard of Oz reigns supreme, There’s No Crying in Trivia is the PB&J chugging champion, and The Spicy Penguins are left wondering if they should rebrand to The Mildly Seasoned Penguins. Until next time, may your answers be correct and your drinks be strong!
