About The Famous Bar

The Famous craft cocktail lounge is located in Glendale's historic Huntley-Evans building, directly across the street from the Americana at Brand. It follows an eclectic and rich pedigree of establishments that have called this building home in the last century, most notably the early Glendale landmark, The Famous Department Store. The Famous, true to its heritage, embraces the classic art of fine craft cocktail creation, invented in the United States in 1856, using bitters, juices, syrups, and infusions, prepared in-house using fresh ingredients from local markets and growers. Cocktails served at The Famous are identical to those served nearly 100 years ago when the building was constructed.

It was a trivia game 65 million years in the making! We spared no expense in making it a fun-filled afternoon of all things JP. We tried to get Richard Kiley to host, but alas he was...well, let's just say unavailable.

Do you remember what brand of shaving cream was used to steal dinos? What about how fast the T-Rex can run, according to John Hammond's team? Or how about what type of fish was being served at lunch in Jurassic Park? (in case you're wondering: Barbasol, 32 mph, and Chilean Sea Bass)

Well, the teams at the JP event knew those answers (and many more) and were there to prove who was the T-Rex of trivia and who would go home dino chow. One team even proved they were the T-Rex, Triceratops, Velicoraptor, and Dilophosaurus of trivia: Spitters and Quitters won the Spirit Prize for their awesome costumes. They were dinosaurs cosplaying as their favorite Jurassic Park characters.

First place was a race between a number of teams, each one jumping in front of the others like a pack of Gallimimus' (Gallimimei?) outrunning a hungry predator.

But in the end, there can only be one at the top of the food chain: Life Finds a Bae took top prize with Spitters are Quitters a close second and Lethal at 8 Months coming in third.
