This week's Trivia showdown was one of the most intense nights of trivia I have ever hosted (that being said I've only hosted two nights of Trivia throughout my life so you should probably take that last statement with a grain of salt). At the end of round 6 it seemed that the two teams who would be competing for the 1st and 2nd place prizes would clearly be "Aaron Sucks" (on a side note I am a personal friend of the Aaron that this team name is referring to which I think gives me the necessary credentials to say that there is some truth to this) and "Team San Jose". The reason this seemed obvious is because at the end of round 6 "Aaron Sucks" had 46 points, and "Team San Jose" had 44 points; while "Ask My Balls" only had 36 points. But on the final round "Ask My Balls" took a risk and decided to use a double or nothing. When I first saw that this was their choice I felt nervous for them. Even one wrong answer would have meant that their team got ZERO points for the final round. But they managed to defy the odds and get all the questions in round seven correct, and because they used a double or nothing they managed to rake in 20 points at the last minute. Which just barely gave them the tittle of 1st place. Now even though there was only one formal "winner" at our trivia showdown everyone who came out to play trivia tonight went home with at least one piece of obscure information in their head that was not there when they left their home that morning, and because of that (to quote O'Shea Jackson) "it was a good day".
