QUIZ RECAP
Ladies, gentlemen, Daddies, families of significant others, and Season 9 Tournament of Champions finalists showed up ready to kick the first official week of Season 10 league play off right! It was one hell of a game, and I'll say it again as I always have -- I really should be paying the Recess Room to host for you delightful people.
Hopefully The Implication didn't go home too discouraged tonight. A double-down mishap kept them in last place, and the Home Team stole a free appetizer out from under their noses, to add insult to injury. BUT, I've seen them come back from worse, and they'll give everyone hell next week. It was also a rough night for Highway Stars, who were lost without the superior Home Team's guidance and wisdom (LOL, yeah, I can't say it without a straight face either!), but everyone else better appreciate their fourth place ranking while it lasts.
We Are Only Here To See Charlotte -- and yes, I am referencing a team, even though I am the only reason everyone else comes, too -- were also there to own their fifth place ranking, eat yummy wedges, and to speak of Rocko's Modern Life very passionately [before all rounds had been turned in].
There was definitely some sweating when it came down to the Home Team, Daddy Down, and Thirsty Pretzels, jumping up, down, and all around. The Daddies started things off right doubling down on their general knowledge, but thought doubling down on their hard-to-pronounce cities was too risky. Home Team doubled down on his general knowledge and measurement connections, and enjoyed his free food as a reward for being obsessed with Rick Grimes' personal life.
In spite of being betrayed by Robocop in Round 4, Thirsty Pretzels still emerged victorious, thanks to their general knowledge, geography, and Texas sports teams smarts. Keep this up for 46 more weeks, guys!
