One fateful day three decades ago, five boys picked up a game of handball during school recess on a Fountain Valley playground. They grew up together, became life-long friends and pursued their own ambitions. But they shared a deep love for their hometown and dreamed of one day opening a restaurant together where they could share good food, good drinks and reminisce about good times. The Recess Room is their childhood dream come to life.

A chilly Thanksgiving Eve on the enclosed patio due to the Pandemic Purple Tier but Recess Room to the rescue with heat lamps plus yours truly is a vigilant forever Mom with extra serape blankets for guests. We had an awesome turn out of 19 players plus all the tables filled as non players wanted to be near to enjoy the banter. Two returning team with excited newbies.

Seven rounds of recall from movies, geography, history and more tonight. In Round 1 we learned the Hawaiian saying for pineapple. In Round 2 the picture round we tested our Thanksgiving movie titles memory. Round 3 The Monument Valley challenge with a few challenges to remember. Round 4 Guess What was a tough place to figure out. Round 5 Find The Connection gave us the real name of Twiggy! Round 6 handout of 'The Last Word' faired well with teams for their literary recall. Finally with Round 7 the geography challenges of knowing the African Coast.

Thank you to the great staff tonight at the Recess Room of Roy, Keit, David, Thomas, Jorge and the kitchen staff.
