Both Soh Cah Toa and Big Group Small Brains started out VERY strong with successful double downs in the first round, wasting no time to break away from the pack. Team Avatar broke away from the pack in Round 2, joining SCT and BGSB in commanding leads from everyone else after all three teams successfully doubled down in the second round. SCT pulled ahead from the group after round 3 after a 3rd consecutive, successful double down effort. The Guess Who round proved very difficult for many teams with over half of the teams incapable of guessing who the person was. Round 5 was a particularly low scoring round with the highest score only 6 out of a possible 20 points; however, Estrada, a seemingly come-from-out-of-nowhere team, was the only team able to guess the connection after scoring was complete and the other 9 answers were given. This was after a strong win in the free beer round despite being in last place before hand due to a late join and missing out on round 1 points. Scooby doo and friends sent a glorious round 6 answer sheet and successfully doubled down with 2 other groups trying and failing to do so. Round 7 is where the scores all got pumped up after successful double downs came from 6 different teams. Ultimately SCT maintained a strong lead the entire game and set a new Twisted Sage Cafe Trivia record with BGSB still putting up a VERY strong score. Team Avatar more than earned their 3rd place finish with a strong admirable performance the whole night through.
