QUIZ RECAP

Nice to be back after a week away. Plenty of teams tonight, and we had fun doing the drinking round (a rep from each team came up and we competed with who could yell the longest in one breath). It was Da Bears who prevailed and donated their pitcher to the last place team at the time, I Heart Janet Reno. Pasadena Peeps were in first for most of the game but it was Da Bears with crucial doubles in later rounds that took them to first, barely eking it out against Second Cousins (whaddya know, second place!) who came through with a giant double in the final round, which was a video round to name Joseph Gordon Levitt films, and Pasadena Peeps taking third and retaining a place on the figurative podium to continue quite a streak of it.

Y'all are a competitive bunch! Carlos, I do not envy you- your teams came to slay, not to play.

Doubles were the name of the game tonight. Team I ? Janet Reno got three doubles in a row in the rounds with the highest stakes and used it to launch them into a secure lead. Way to keep up that winning streak!

However, second place was no easy feat as the Pasadena Peeps and Alcohol-O 11 squared down in a tie breaker showdown. By a narrow margin, the Peeps earned their right to silver as Alcohol-O 11 relished their worthy bronze.

For the sheer drama of it all, I had Da bears and We Just Met Tonight show down in the tiebreaker as well...only for both of them to guess the EXACT same answer. That being said, I think they're both content to share 4th...for now.

Welp, after a week off for me, it was good to be back with my basement buddies at Barney's. For the drinking round, I thought it would be fun to have them name the world's five deadliest animals (mosquitoes #1 followed by *gasp* humans at #2!). Pasadena Peeps prevailed by getting four out of five correct (snakes and dogs as well, good job!). Pasadena Peeps had a great streak going, two weeks in a row taking the top two spots by dividing their large team into two, but this week their streak was broken (it's ok, 3rd place ain't bad), with Club Obi Wan taking second and I ? Janet Reno taking the top spot by a good margin (and that's without having a registered team!).
