QUIZ RECAP

A slightly lower-key game for Brouwerij West this week -- possibly because we were all soothed by the Bob Ross playing silently on the big screen -- but low-key for Brouwerij West is still lively as hell!

The top three teams wound up within a few points of each other: Turd Ferguson nabbed first place at 40 points, with Hope Springs Eternal trailing only a bit at 38 and Thrash Wednesday coming in again at third with 37. The Brouwerij West home team just barely fell behind them after an unsuccessful double attempt in the sixth round.

Shout out to The McCandless Live!, a team made up of the Quizmaster's friends who proved her integrity by only scoring 9 points. I give no special favors, people.

What a monster of a game this week at Brouwerij West!

What started as a 17-team free-for-all was eventually winnowed down to 11 die-hard teams. Everybody was in it to win it until after Round 5 when a successful 20-point double-down rocketed Waka Waka to 41 points, followed by a successful Round 6 double-down by The Founders. In the end, that brought The Founders, Brouwerij West's home team, to first place, followed by Waka Waka in second and Thrash Wednesday in third, the latter two taking home those well-earned gift certificates.

Shout out to the team that wrote "We don't know, but we love you! :)" on one of their answer sheets. I love you too, Brouwerij-ers!

Happy Valentine's Day!

After a late start by fault of the Quizmaster, this week's Brouwerij West teams made it a lovely Valentine's Day game! Judging by the sheepish looks of a few team members upon handing in their sheets, it was a tough one. But teams can rest assured that the competition was pretty evenly matched! So much so, in fact, that the game culminated in a three-way tie in the final round. After the tie breaker, it was punnily-named Thrash Wednesday who emerged victorious, followed closely by Say What? and then the many members of Shellshocked.

This Quizmaster especially got a kick out of some of the hilarious responses teams wrote when the answer eluded -- as well as the unanimous (if incorrect) answer from the final round. In honor of which, this poem is offered:

Roses are red,
The countryside is lonely.
