QUIZ RECAP

GAME 1!!  So happy the Dodgers dominated tonight, it made for such a great start to trivia!  Though this nerd right here couldn't remember what the "World Series" was called when I was trying to hype up the crowd.  "Hey everyone, how are you enjoying the... game!?"  <sigh>

But man, even with Butcher's Dog packed more than I've ever seen it, tonight's trivia went off like a well-oiled machine!  Lots of first time teams stayed to test their mental might, and lots of fun was had by all! There were even a couple of scoring upsets towards the end!!

JC's Bacon Dream, who held the lead for the entire game, only faltered in their strategy, as they got too timid in the last 2 rounds!  Even though they got perfect scores both rounds, they weren't bold enough to Double or Nothing, and so they lost 1st AND 2nd place to teams that risked it all!

It's too Hot For This took the top spot for the night after a successful Double in round 6, and Off in the Woods, after tying JC's Bacon Dream with a successful round 7 Double, took second place after a tie-breaker question!  So Drama! Much Exciting!

PS.  There's Always Money In The Banana Stand didn't get that the connection in Round 5 was "Arrested Development" characters.  It was worse than the time You're A Quizzard Harry didn't get the Guess Who round when the answer was "Harry Potter"...

QUIZ RECAP

Another huge night of trivia, and a packed house at Butcher's as people were watching the playoff game between the Cubs and the Dodgers, as well as our regular players streaming in for quizzy goodness!

After a little maneuvering of speakers so everyone could hear, the game got off to a rousing start!  Successful double-or-nothings were rare, but perennial victors Baseball is Bad won the quiz by a decent margin, but would have done even better, as they left a few Doubles on the table as missed opportunities.  Second place went to JC's Bacon Dream, who have apparently never placed second before.  First and third, but never second, so cross that off the bucket list!

Third place team Atmospheric Schmutz, while not getting a gift certificate, didn't go home empty handed!  They won a huge bottle of blueberry wheat ale!  Which honestly sounds pretty wonderful.

Other than that, Winter is Coming did not get the Guess Who round on the first clue, even though the answer was Jon Snow.  But they don't know nothing, they got it on the second clue for 8 points 🙂

QUIZ RECAP

It was an intense and fun night of trivia this week at Butcher's Dog! Scores were very close all evening and the lead position changed hands several times, especially in the last few rounds!

In the end, Summer of James snagged the top spot and a $50 gift certificate!  Triple A won a tie-breaker question, guessing the EXACT number of hot dogs and buns the winner of the national eating contest had eaten, to take home a $25 gift certificate, and they'd already won themselves the drink round (through no effort of their own, Trivia Is Hard randomly drew the winner).

But the loser of the tie-breaker, No Pants Party, didn't do home empty handed, they won a big ol' bottle of craft booze. Yay!
