QUIZ RECAP

I was delighted to see that team You Make My Daisy held the lead for most of the game (I’m blushing!), until 4 different teams gave them a run for their money by using Double or Nothing in the last three rounds. This led to an incredibly close game between the top 8 teams, with leads switching constantly due to Double or Nothing uses. It was a nail-biting finale with two teams tying for 4th place at 60 points: Agents of the Zeitgeist and The Entourage, two teams tying for 2nd place at 61 points: Joggers (3rd) and You Make My Daisy (2nd), and our first place winner was In Shambles at 63 points. The teams tonight seemed to be very well-versed in both their “dance” songs and their stop-motion films, as most teams scored incredibly high during those rounds.

For the drinking round, I asked teams to produce an item or piece of clothing that is from the furthest place they could. We had a tattoo from Australia, shoes from Bangladesh, a rosary from Fatima, a keychain from Japan, and a rupee from India, but the item that was acquired from the furthest distance away was a hat from Johannesburg from Agents of the Zeitgeist—10,000 miles away from our bar here in LA! 

All of the teams seemed incredibly engaged, and even the ones taking up the rear on the leaderboard were having a blast. Though I did get a suggestion to add more questions about fish into the game, so I’ll have to pass along to the higher-ups to beef up their marine animal knowledge🐠

I was incredibly pleased to have 12 teams playing, with many of them being regulars and one team having their King Trivia homecoming after an eight year hiatus from playing (they were confused that we didn’t have the chisels and slates for answer submissions anymore).

The bar seemed lively when the game started and just as lively when it ended. A great environment and evening all around!

Another great night at founders ale, first round may have been too easy for some but our impressive teams prevailed through the tougher questions through the later rounds. And congrats to 'Duke Larson Stans' on the victory!
