Tonight was an unique night here at Institution Ale. Since King Trivia's debut in November 2016, we have had the same host, Lamar. Last night in over two years, Lamar finally had a commitment that would force him to leave early and therefore not be able to host tonight. Lucky for our 2nd place team, The Flying Chanclas, tonight who had the privilege of Lamar joining them for a few rounds.

In typical Institution fashion, it was a busy night and finding seating inside was a luxury. We started strong with 18 teams and shortly after reading round 1 we had a few new teams joined us. All our teams were patient in the extra time it took for us to catch our new teams up in Round 1.

Tonight featured a lot of doubling which ended up making and breaking it for many teams. The Flying Chanclas and The Stumps both started out strong successfully doubling in the first round. After Round 2, our top 2 teams fell victim to question number 4 but lucky for The Chuckleheads they successfully doubled and took the lead and never let it go. The first four rounds The Flying Chanclas and The Stumps were tied until Round 5 when The Flying Chanclas took a slight 1 point lead. The Chanclas retained a slight lead over the Stumps the remainder of the evening and The Chuckleheads successfully doubling in Round 5 and 6 secured their spot in 1st for the evening.

All in all it was a close game where many teams were neck and neck. Every week is a new challenge and who knows who will take the lead spot next week.

Regardless of who, we are all winners as we get to consume some of the best beer in the area, delicious pizza and learn new things.

Long time veterans The Stumps chopped their way back to the top of the King Trivia tree at IAC Tuesday night. Pumpernickels took Second Place, and First Timers I Quizzed Myself held down the Third spot. Springing forward, the quiz started still daylight, with very tough questions, and ended in the dark of the night with lots of successful doubles.
