About Malo Restaurant

Our menu is impeccably prepared using solely fresh ingredients and a whole lot of love. We believe in great recipes, balance, and most importantly, consistency. Our kitchen’s ground beef and pickle tacos, burnt habanero crema salsa, and the bar staff’s no-compromise margaritas have been blogged about, mimicked, and consumed in enormous quantities from the day we first rolled them out. Since opening the original location in 2003, we’ve built Malo into a favorite Silver Lake dining destination with signature dishes including our made-to-order “chuey” chips, Mexican prepared corn, Shrimp Fundito, Ensenada Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, and braised chicken hard shell tacos.

Sorry for the delay in recap, but it just took me that long to recover from the amazing night that was All-Acoustic King Triva!

Yes, due to electrical difficulties upstairs, this trivia night was unplugged. No worries though, our five teams still played tremendously well and gave it everything.

Victory went to the newcomers Pescados Oreos Suecos tonight, who played wisely by only doubling once. They maintained that lead and secured it for the whole night.

Fellow newcomers Obnox also played well, despite struggling in the last round. Thankfully for them, too many other teams got risky and couldn't reach their level.

Shout out to bronze winners Pobody's Nerfect- you're still champions to me and will surely rise again.

Welcome back to Malo! After missing a week due to a corporate buyout (boo) King Trivia @ Malo is back and better than ever!

Or well, basically the same but with more players.

Thursday night was pretty fun with new teams shaking up our dynamic. Newcomers Tex-Macks (with is so much harder to say than to read) led us into Malo's First Ever Tiebreaker! But by pure power of guessing, I'd Rather Be At Karaoke claimed the silver medal. Tex-Macks walked away with a respectable bronze.

Congrats to our conquering heroes, Pobody's Nerfect! Months of practice and tons of team members finally paid off. Well done.

Shout out to the Muchos Amigos and Strutting Ass Gunsligners for playing so valiantly. Keep it up, and keep having fun.
