1. As teams come back from their various summer trips, they strap on the boots, punch the time card, and settle in for another shift at the trivia factory. Seven teams met for knowledge supremacy on Tuesday, but steady, measured play was the key to the crown. Aunt Becky Got Me Into College put the pressure on Freddie Mercury Rising, who jumped to an early lead, but in the end blew it with too many bold wagers and not enough conversions, letting Aunt Becky take the win!

The dog days of summer wear on, but trivia is alive and well on Tuesday nights in San Jose! Tonight was a grudge match for the ages, with longtime contender Ladies & the Tramps bringing a significantly larger team than usual, and then splitting along gender lines for an old-fashioned battle of the sexes. It was high drama at first, but as it turns out, girls run the trivia world, with the Ladies handily drubbing the Tramps, who used that double-or-nothing to disastrous effect. Aunt Becky Got Me Into College continues their development as a team to watch, with a strong second-place showing ahead of longtime champs Ask My Balls, who came third.

Most of Silicon Valley is using Independence Day as an excuse for an extremely extra-long weekend, but 5 teams still brought that July heat to the Fountainhead on Tuesday night. It was relatively conservative trivia, with several veteran teams getting perfect rounds but not using the double-or-nothing mechanic to boost their scores. Who dares wins, though, and after finally pulling off a monster round 6 double, Ask My Balls was too far ahead to be caught by any other team.
