🧠 KING TRIVIA @ WIRTshaus — Wednesday, June 18, 2025
Hosted by Quiz Mistress McCall
25 teams entered. One team doubled. And that’s the whole story.
Tonight was one of those trivia nights — where the difference between first place and second place came down to one bold double-or-nothing in Round 7. The leaderboard was tight from the start, and the crowd at Wirtshaus was packed with familiar faces and fantastic new teams — 25 in total at the start, with a few bowing out gracefully before the final rounds.
Agents of the Zeitgeist, longtime Wirthaus regulars and perennial podium-climbers, led the game heading into the final round. They had the right answers. But they didn’t double.
Mons Angels, brand new to Wirtshaus but clearly not new to the trivia game, did. And with all ten answers correct in Round 7, they snagged the lead — and the $30 gift card.
Agents of the Zeitgeist took second place and a $20 gift card, just seven points behind.
The Micromorts, another brand new team and fast fan-favorite thanks to their gracious vibes and serious trivia chops, secured third place and took home the $10 gift card. They made it clear this wasn’t their first trivia rodeo — and we sure hope it’s not their last at Wirtshaus.

🥨 KING TRIVIA @ WIRTSHAUS — June 11, 2025
Hosted by Quiz Mistress McCall
22 teams entered. 7 rounds later, only one walked away covered in potato glory.
Tonight was no joke — 22 teams crammed into Wirtshaus, dodging schnitzel platters and beer steins to battle it out through a wild set of rounds. From Pee-wee Herman harmonicas to Scottish unicorns, the trivia gods were in a mood.
Round 1 warmed up the room with questions on TSA, Notting Hill, and which hip hop group RZA has a five-year plan with (Wu-Tang, forever). Easy enough.
Round 2’s “One and Done” Picture Round was a name-game of mononymous icons — shoutout to anyone who got both Charo and Neymar without Googling.
Then came “Vote for Pedro”, a seamless mash-up of Pedro Pascal and global elections. If you knew Labour Party, Santiago, and Joel from The Last of Us — you were thriving. (Not Pedro’s real name, but it was the right answer.)
Round 4’s “Guess Who” dropped the Double or Nothing drama — a single answer, one shot, and a slow reveal of… Mary Todd Lincoln. You either got it early or you waited until Tad showed up in Clue 4.
Round 5, the connection round, was a slow burn until the Scotland lightbulb went off. Ness, unicorns, Wallace — suddenly it all clicked.
Round 6 brought us the Broadway match game. If you knew “Welcome to the Rock” belonged to Come From Away and not Stomp the Yard: The Musical (not real, but maybe it should be), you held strong.
And finally, Round 7, “In a Big Country,” tested your geography flex. The top ten largest nations by land area. It was Kazakhstan that tripped folks up — again.
🏆 FINAL STANDINGS:
🥇 …is potato – 78 pts
Started slow, surged ahead with three 20-point rounds in a row (Rounds 3, 5, and 6). Ruthless and methodical.
🥈 Vandely Industrial Import and Exports – 76 pts
Only team to beat “potato” in Rounds 1 and 7. One double shy of a win.
🥉 The Baba Yaga – 71 pts
They knew their Broadway and their geopolitics. Strong closer.
📈 Honorable Top Finishers:
- Four Schnitzels of the Apocalypse – 67 pts
- Big is Moving to Paris – 63 pts
- Smitty Werbenjägermanjensen – 61 pts
🌀 Middle of the pack but made it weird in the best way:
Gilmore Girls, Quiztina 2.0, Quiztin Chenowith, and In Third Place (who came in… 11th).
🫶 Thank you to every single team who played their guts out and filled the beer hall with pure trivia chaos. From ACT vs. SAT to Fiddler on the Roof to Scrooge McDuck, you showed up and brought the heat.
Tip your bartenders. Double-check your REAL ID. And we’ll see you next Wednesday.
