About Casting Society Cares:
Casting Society Cares is the charitable division of the Casting Society of America. The CSC is a separate, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that partners with a variety of philanthropic organizations to provide our members with the opportunity to give back, to raise awareness, and to support our local communities.
We welcome any ideas and partnership requests from our members and colleagues, and we are always looking for more volunteers!
We give back.
Here are some of the ways CSA gets involved with the community.
A WINDOW BETWEEN WORLDS
A Window Between Worlds (AWBW) is a network of transformative arts programs at partnering human service agencies nationwide. Their programs provide art as a tool for empowerment and healing to hundreds of thousands of women, men and children who have experienced violence and trauma. Their goal is replacing violence and shame with safety and hope. Their network of partners includes domestic violence shelters, sexual assault agencies, homeless shelters, veteran’s programs, foster youth services, substance abuse treatment centers, school districts, community programs, and more. Visit www.awbw.org to learn more.
HEAL THE BAY
Heal the Bay is an environmental nonprofit dedicated to making the coastal waters and watersheds of Greater Los Angeles safe, healthy and clean. To fulfill our mission, we use science, education, community action, and advocacy. healthebay.org
PROJECT ANGEL FOOD
The Project Angel Food mission is to feed and nourish the sick as they battle critical illness.
Volunteers and staff cook and deliver the nearly 1,200 nutritious meals each day, free of charge, to homes throughout Los Angeles County to alleviate hunger, prevent malnutrition and return their clients to health. A lot of care and love goes into each meal, whether they are dicing red onions or portioning out beef stroganoff, a steady stream of devoted volunteers have a hand in almost every aspect of meal production. On any given day in their kitchen, you will see a miracle in action, with people of all ages coming together to give back to their most fragile neighbors. www.angelfood.org
SHELTER PARTNERSHIPS
Shelter Partnership, Inc. is a nonprofit organization collaboratively solving homelessness in Los Angeles County through policy analysis, program design, resource development, and advocacy in support of agencies and local governments that serve the homeless. www.shelterpartnership.org

STOCKINGS WITH CARE
Founded in New York in 1992 by CSA member Rosalie Joseph and Tom Fontana, Stockings With Care is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to making sure that New York-area families in need have everything they need to create the magic of Christmas morning for their kids. Last year, Stockings With Care played Santa to over 1,500 kids. For us, it’s about opening hearts, inspiring dreams and preserving the dignity of parents and their families. Stockings With Care works with coalitions which assist families either living in homeless shelters or who are in jeopardy of becoming homeless and cannot afford to celebrate their holiday. Social workers at each of these coalitions work with the parents to make their wish lists. These lists are passed on to Stockings With Care. Through the generosity of our individual Santas, private and corporate donors and a small army of volunteers, we make sure that every child gets at least two things on their list and that each child has at least three gifts to open on Christmas morning. Thousands of gifts are wrapped and delivered to the parents, empowering them to create magic for their kids. Please click here for more info
Since 2007, various casting offices around the United States organize and see actors who participate in food drives – a great way to give back to the community and see actors at the same time. The program currently serves Chicago, Portland, Oklahoma and Louisiana, with new areas added every year. In 2011 – MFM collected 46 boxes for the Louisiana SPCA and Second Harvest, 831 lbs of food for the Oregon Food Bank, almost 500 items in Oklahoma, and after seeing 300 people in Chicago, 30 boxes of food were collected for the Chicago Food Depository.
We are always open to new ideas for ways to give back, contact the office with any questions or suggestions.
About King Trivia Cares
Are you on a quest to make the world a better place? Are you looking to raise money and boost awareness for a local charity, non-profit group, unfunded school program or other worthwhile special project? King Trivia Cares!
King Trivia events are a perfect tool for raising awareness and raising funds. By holding your event at a King Trivia show, you’ll tap into our extensive community of culturally attuned players, and we’ll help spread the word by promoting your fundraiser throughout our empire. Best of all, there are no fees involved! At King Trivia, we’re all about the philanthropy.
How it Works:
Your fundraiser will take place in tandem with a regular King Trivia event. King Trivia®games are free to play, but those who opt to support your cause will make a pre-determined contribution (typically $5-$15 per player) from which a small amount (we recommend 10%) is set aside as a prize for the winning team.
That’s it! All remaining funds go to the sponsoring organization. King Trivia Cares charges no fees of any kind, and does not benefit financially in any way. We do get a warm fuzzy glow inside, however.
Scheduling a King Trivia Cares event is easy. All we need from you is a commitment to bring at least 20 (or more) players grouped into 5 (or more) teams. We’ll do our best to accommodate specific scheduling requests, and will work with you to determine the best location and timing. King Trivia gets to make the final decision on what location may be used for your King Trivia® CARES event.
