About Bar Charlie

Bar Charlie landed in the North Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle in December 2016. Bar Charlie aims to be a comfortable neighborhood bar featuring beers, food and spirits crafted in the greater Pacific Northwest.

Bar Charlie's interior concept is inspired by the history of the De Havilland Beaver Seaplane and is a mix of actual seaplane parts, wood, concrete and metal.  The walls have photography and art detailing the history of Seaplanes on Lake Union.

Bar Charlie was created by Christian Thomason with mentoring and construction assistance from Chris Navarra.

Bar Charlie evolved out of the desire to do something more than tackle an endless mountain of bureaucratic paperwork.  It’s intended to be a neighborhood gathering spot, a place to unwind with good drinks and food.

QUIZ RECAP

It was another eventful Tuesday night at Bar Charlie! We had 7 teams all playing for the chance to win bragging rights (and a gift card to come back).

Round 1 found Sleeping Booty starting off strong with all their General Knowledge, while Cottonheaded Ninnymugginses decided to sit this round out, until they saw how much fun everyone else was having playing trivia, and came in to start on Round 2, the Picture Round. Those music logos had a couple of teams seeing double-or-nothing, and brought The Misfits and At Least His Dog is Cute out as the front runners.

Round 3, the Theme Round - A Star is Born had a few more teams test their luck with Double or Nothing, evening the tally with scores in the 20's. The Guess Who round (4), was confusing for some, who turned in their answers too soon, and guessed wrong, while another team decided they were better off not turning in anything than maybe getting the wrong answer and minus 1 point.

Round 5, Find the Connection, was a tough one this week, just a Stone's throw away for some, but no one got all 10 right this time around. On to the Matching handout for Round 6, no Olympia is not a country, but we did have four teams get all the athletes paired correctly with their country from the Olympics - although only two of them were certain enough to mark the Double-or-Nothing box for double the points!

Finally Round 7 had most of the teams stumped on listing out ALL 9 of the "Real Housewives" regions listed .Who knew there were 9 different cities/areas of "Real Housewives"? Apparently nobody, because the most any team got right were 8 of them.

It was super close up through the whole game, and we had some amazing team work from everyone who played. In the end it was The Misfits who pulled into first place, followed by Quizards of Oz in second, and Sleeping Booty in third. Great job to everyone who played, and thank you for those who didn't come to play, but stayed and played anyway! Let's keep this momentum going - bring your friends 🙂

Thanks to my "assistant" Kari this week, you did great! And of course, thanks to our lovely bartender, Amy, and Christian for hosting us at Bar Charlie!
