About Bar Charlie

Bar Charlie landed in the North Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle in December 2016. Bar Charlie aims to be a comfortable neighborhood bar featuring beers, food and spirits crafted in the greater Pacific Northwest.

Bar Charlie's interior concept is inspired by the history of the De Havilland Beaver Seaplane and is a mix of actual seaplane parts, wood, concrete and metal.  The walls have photography and art detailing the history of Seaplanes on Lake Union.

Bar Charlie was created by Christian Thomason with mentoring and construction assistance from Chris Navarra.

Bar Charlie evolved out of the desire to do something more than tackle an endless mountain of bureaucratic paperwork.  It’s intended to be a neighborhood gathering spot, a place to unwind with good drinks and food.

QUIZ RECAP

We had 3 fantastic teams for trivia this Tuesday! It was a close race from start to finish.

All three teams are registered on KingTrivia.com to get the 2 bonus points, and it showed! The first round of General Knowledge proved just how general this round of knowledge was, when all three teams not only got all the answers right, but also doubled down on them AND got the bonus points for the team number. So round one scores tallied up a tie at 14 points each.

In round 2, Riff Raff got a little over-confident, and doubled down on their picture round, but came in just shy, costing them dearly, while the other two teams each got 7 out of the 8 quarterbacks right, leaving us with just a two -way tie between I'm Here for the Gang Bang and Risk it for the Biscuit.

That didn't slow down Riff Raff in Round 3, for the Theme round, of triple dubs (W's, that is). They all told me this round was too easy, as each team correctly answered every question in Round 3, and went double-or-nothing, keeping a steady tie-lead for Risk it for the Biscuit and I'm Here for the Gang Bang.

Round 4, Guess Who was close as well, and while Risk it for the Biscuit and Riff Raff both guess correctly on the 8 point clue, but I'm Here for the Gang Bang almost forgot it could be a fictional character, so they waited until after the 6 point clue to turn in their answer.

Round 5, Find the Connection, two teams actually did find the connection, even without knowing all of the other answers.

The point gap really started to narrow off in Round 6, the matching round of decades to movie release dates, when Riff Raff and I'm Here for the Gang Bang both got 10/10 correct. That put us at 54-53-51 scores going into the final round...

Round 7, the Final Round, Behind Iron Curtain #1 wasn't as easy as some thought it was when they handed in their answer sheets. It asked for 10 of the 14 countries that the USSR broke up into in 1991 (excluding Russia). Risk it for the Biscuit knew their limits, and turned in their best try, but only getting 4 correct answers. Going for the gold, both Riff Raff and I'm Here for the Gang Bang decided to double-or-nothing their last round to take a stab at that W. I'm Here for the Gang Bang was so close, missing only 1 answer, so that meant Riff Raff took home the win with their 10 correct answers!!

Final scores brought Riff Raff to the #1 spot, followed by Risk it for the Biscuit in 2nd, and then I'm Here for the Gang Bang 3rd.

It was a fun night, bring all your friends, spread the word, and we'll see you all again next week!
