About Bar Charlie

Bar Charlie landed in the North Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle in December 2016. Bar Charlie aims to be a comfortable neighborhood bar featuring beers, food and spirits crafted in the greater Pacific Northwest.

Bar Charlie's interior concept is inspired by the history of the De Havilland Beaver Seaplane and is a mix of actual seaplane parts, wood, concrete and metal.  The walls have photography and art detailing the history of Seaplanes on Lake Union.

Bar Charlie was created by Christian Thomason with mentoring and construction assistance from Chris Navarra.

Bar Charlie evolved out of the desire to do something more than tackle an endless mountain of bureaucratic paperwork.  It’s intended to be a neighborhood gathering spot, a place to unwind with good drinks and food.

QUIZ RECAP

What a night for trivia at Bar Charlie! We had 8 amazing teams join us this week, and some great competition.

Round 1 started out with some General Knowledge questions that had a few teams scratching their heads. As has become the trend, teams taking the lead were also those who are registered on KingTrivia.com to get those 2 bonus points and start the game off right!

The Picture Round asked teams to identify the TV show based off a picture of a teacher from that show. TWO teams doubled down on this round, bringing Riff Raff and Quiz on Your Face into the top two spots, while Pilsner Puzzlers should have also checked that double-or-nothing box to keep up.

In Round 3, we had our 8th team join in - thanks for agreeing to play, Nailed It! We had a lot of 4's scored this round and a couple of 5's, but for the most part, the teams kept their rankings steady.

The Guess Who round (Round 4) had Nailed It earning their name, by being the first team to turn in their correct answer, while the rest took 1 or 2 more clues to figure out who we were describing. Great job!

Round 5, Find the Connection appeared to be the toughest round of the night, with all the teams taking extra time to discuss their answers and figure out what that Connection was. Scores this round ranged from 3-8 points, with Risk it for the Biscuit topping this round.

The Matching Round up next might have been the best - Matching the Catchphrase with the TV character who said it. Six out of our eight teams decided to go Double-or-Nothing on this round, and it paid off for five of them! While N.A.* should have doubled down, and Booze + I.Q.'s would have done better if they hadn't, this round was definitely a game changer.

The Round 7 question had many teams upset at the question topic - Nailed It even boycotted the question altogether - something to do with "why should I care about the Kardashians?" and "I'm glad I don't know all of them." But alas, I don't write them, I just read them! Surprisingly, Riff Raff actually got 8 out of 10 on this question, the highest score for this round.

Bringing home the bacon was Riff Raff in 1st place, followed in 2nd by Quiz on Your Face, who only brought the toast, and Risk it for the Biscuit (brought the gravy) in 3rd.

It was so great having 8 teams and a full bar! Hope to see you all again next week! Keep up the great work 🙂
