About Bar Charlie

Bar Charlie landed in the North Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle in December 2016. Bar Charlie aims to be a comfortable neighborhood bar featuring beers, food and spirits crafted in the greater Pacific Northwest.

Bar Charlie's interior concept is inspired by the history of the De Havilland Beaver Seaplane and is a mix of actual seaplane parts, wood, concrete and metal.  The walls have photography and art detailing the history of Seaplanes on Lake Union.

Bar Charlie was created by Christian Thomason with mentoring and construction assistance from Chris Navarra.

Bar Charlie evolved out of the desire to do something more than tackle an endless mountain of bureaucratic paperwork.  It’s intended to be a neighborhood gathering spot, a place to unwind with good drinks and food.

QUIZ RECAP

It was another packed evening at Bar Charlie for trivia this week! And I had a helper trying his hand at this whole QM thing (thanks Jim, great job!)

Eight full teams got to battle it out with their brains. Round 1 was our General Knowledge, and for the most part, teams did pretty well here. The one commonly missed question was about what Louisiana team won a smaller version of the "fall classic," key word being smaller version, we were looking for the Little League World Series, not LSU...

Round 2 tested the teams knowledge of (once banned) book covers, and they had to be specific. Toughest ones were The Grapes of Wrath, and the full Harry Potter title (and the Sorcerer's Stone).

For the third round, we had our guest Quizmaster, Jim, cracking jokes and counting points. We think he did great, and got some positive feedback from a few of our BC regulars 🙂

Our Guess Who round this week took a few clues for teams to start turning in their answers, but they all got it eventually. You really have to know a lot about these people to get it right on the first or second clue.

In round 5, we brought Jim back up again to Find the Connection. Riff Raff could have gone double-or-nothing to really jump in front of Sleeping Booty, but they held off for round 6, matching the fictional foods and drinks to their sources, and took the lead.

The final round was a tough one, and for the most part, kept teams in their same pecking order as the previous round. Although Boo's Crews was the only team to write down Papua New Guinea, the rest of the teams did well too.

In the end, final scores had Riff Raff in 1st place, followed by Sleeping Booty in 2nd, and Risk it for the Biscuit (who didn't end up risking it) in 3rd.

Thank you all for coming out for trivia this week! We had a ton of fun!

See you next Tuesday!
