About Bar Charlie

Bar Charlie landed in the North Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle in December 2016. Bar Charlie aims to be a comfortable neighborhood bar featuring beers, food and spirits crafted in the greater Pacific Northwest.

Bar Charlie's interior concept is inspired by the history of the De Havilland Beaver Seaplane and is a mix of actual seaplane parts, wood, concrete and metal.  The walls have photography and art detailing the history of Seaplanes on Lake Union.

Bar Charlie was created by Christian Thomason with mentoring and construction assistance from Chris Navarra.

Bar Charlie evolved out of the desire to do something more than tackle an endless mountain of bureaucratic paperwork.  It’s intended to be a neighborhood gathering spot, a place to unwind with good drinks and food.

QUIZ RECAP

Trivia started out a little slow this week. Round 1 was a tough one, where the only two teams who scored 6 points were those who received two bonus points for having their team registered at KingTrivia.com. The most commonly missed question of the round was What state has Charleston as it's capitol? Every team wrote down South Carolina, when in fact the answer is West Virginia.

So, we moved along to Round 2, our picture round to name the series by it's opening title picture. Great work done by No Use For a Name, who got all 8 pictures correct! Could've doubled down, but didn't, playing it safe.

Our theme round kept everyone's scores pretty static, each scoring 3 points in Round 3, relating to Italy.

In Round 4, Guess Who had a tricky 10-point clue, costing one point each to Kennewick Warriors and Alex Trebek's Illegitimate Children who turned in an incorrect answer on the first clue. The rest of the teams all guessed correctly after a few more clues.

Finding the Connection in Round 5 was tougher than usual this week as well. The answers all included the last name of a famous actress who has been nominated for an Oscar... Not an easy connection to find.

Moving on to Round 6, our matching round, the teams needed to identify the movie within a movie. Great work to Impeachy Keen who got all the answers right, shooting them to the top of the score sheet.

The Final Round had the teams talking travel, specifically airports, naming the ten countries with the most airports. For the most part, the teams were able to correctly guess the top 6-7: USA, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Russia, Argentina, and Colombia; but missed the bottom 3: Bolivia, Paraguay, and Indonesia.

All teams put their best effort forward and had fun, and that's what its really all about, isn't it?

Okay, if you must know, your top 3 teams for the night were Impeachy Keen in 1st, We Thought This Was Speed Dating in 2nd, and No Use For A Name in 3rd!

Don't forget to register your team on KingTrivia.com to get those 2 extra bonus points! See you next week!
