About Bar Charlie

Bar Charlie landed in the North Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle in December 2016. Bar Charlie aims to be a comfortable neighborhood bar featuring beers, food and spirits crafted in the greater Pacific Northwest.

Bar Charlie's interior concept is inspired by the history of the De Havilland Beaver Seaplane and is a mix of actual seaplane parts, wood, concrete and metal.  The walls have photography and art detailing the history of Seaplanes on Lake Union.

Bar Charlie was created by Christian Thomason with mentoring and construction assistance from Chris Navarra.

Bar Charlie evolved out of the desire to do something more than tackle an endless mountain of bureaucratic paperwork.  It’s intended to be a neighborhood gathering spot, a place to unwind with good drinks and food.

What a warm welcome back to trivia after my week off in Mexico! We had a great crowd with some intense competition and lively conversation.

Round 1 started out with a three-way tie between Brainy Rainy, Joementum, and Team 5-1-0, with My Two Sense just 1-point shy of a four-way tie. All that General Knowledge finally paying off!

As we moved into Round 2, the Picture Round, things stayed mostly steady as we saw just how much each team could identify the EPCOT's from around the world.

Our theme round "from Dusk til Dawn" started to set the teams apart, unfortunately leaving My Two Sense with some ground to make up; but make it up, they did, in Round 4, by guessing correct for the Guess Who after just two clues.

Round 5 was a close one, in which each team was able to positively find the connection of things relating to restaurants, and keeping a steady line on scoring into the next round.

It was in Round 6, where we had our one and only Double-Or-Nothing for the night from Team 5-1-0. The handout this week, matching the soccer club to it's nickname. And yes, they did in fact get all 10 matches correct, scoring 20 points this round!

This all lead up to the final round, where Team 5-1-0 shined yet again, missing a perfect score by 1, but they were smart to not double down. Unfortunately, Brainy Rainy wasn't so lucky, as this round dropped them out of the top 3.

Your #1 team for the night was Team 5-1-0, followed by Joementum in the #2 spot, and My Two Sense in 3rd.

Great job everyone! Thank you all for coming out, you've got great energy and enthusiasm for the game. Trivia wouldn't be the same without you.

See you next week!
