QUIZ RECAP

This was my first time hosting King Trivia and it was a blast! Not only did my best friend and girlfriend come out to play, I was also joined by a group of regulars that really made this game an exciting one. Intravenus De Milo claimed First Place by boldly going for Double Or Nothing right out of the gate which majorly paid off when they did it AGAIN in Round 5 during Find the Connection. That second gamble catapulted Intravenous to the peak of a ten point mountain no other team could reach.

Round 7 certainly doled out the most tragic results of the evening with no team guessing ten of the eleven Steven Spielberg's films that were nominated for best picture by the Oscars. That didn't stop New Year New Team Name from attempting to go for Double Or Nothing! This move was an effort to launch themselves passed Millennial Falcons and into their Second Place spot. It would have been an effective game plan had they only NOT crossed out Jaws and replaced it with The Terminal.... Ahh, what might have been for NYNTN. Instead they rounded out the Top Six while Quiz On Your Face took home the prize for Third Place followed by The Great Bison War and Your Mom Goes to College unfortunately on the outside looking in at Fourth and Fifth Place.

The night kicked off with some minor technical difficulties so due to our late start we decided to hold our drinking round after the regular game. For what I believe to be the first time in King Trivia history, we played five rousing rounds of REDNECK BINGO! It's easy to play; Each team picks one stereotypical country music word/lyric that might be heard in popular country songs, then with sixty-seconds on the clock we play a random country song and the team whose word gets uttered first wins that round. Best of five rounds wins! After a dry first two rounds things finally picked up when the reigning champions of the night Intravenous De Milo claimed Round 3, followed by a challenge from The Great Bison War in Round 4 who fell victim yet again to almighty Intravenus as their word hit in the last few seconds of Round 5 to avoid the tiebreaker round. Altogether we had a riveting game but it was only Intravenus De Milo who left as victors.
