The rain was pouring, but so was the beer at Barney's Beanery in Westwood. 20 teams turned out for a night of ups, downs, and side to sides. The points were swinging like a batter just aching for spring training.

The first round popped off with only a little to-do, with most teams conservative with a few head-scratchers, but a few attempting and succeeding doubles. The second round saw our first goose-eggs, but still a few doubles. Mostly, though, teams held around the center of the spread and stayed there until the find the connection round, where a texas-sized helping of points had a bit of flavour to add to the scoreboard and shake things up. Teams awed the quizmaster and scorekeeper with their knowledge of Olympian gold winners, as Eleven Teams scored double, and the rest had near-perfect answer rates. Cocky with confidence, however the final round proved fatal for some as the leaders fell to goose-eggs, Launching their close competitors to the top of the heap at the very end.
