About Barrel & Ashes

The restaurant has been stripped back to its original 1940's structure and creatively redesigned by Ricki Kline, to bring family style Southern hospitality to Studio City. The majority of the restaurant's interior and exterior has been completely remodeled, with the exception of the original 1940s tile-work that was discovered during construction and meticulously restored. Indoor seating consists of communal tables, classic table seating, and a chef's counter with a front row view of all the action. Patio seating features picnic style tables reminiscent of a Texan barbecue.

Guests can enjoy chef-driven traditional American barbecue at Barrel & Ashes seven days a week. The menu focuses on family-style service with daily specials from our chefs, drawing from their travels and cherished family recipes. Meats are all smoked over coastal California Red Oak and cooked over White Oak. Some of the traditional side dishes are true to the recipes of Hollingsworth's mother, while others have been creatively adapted and developed.

What a Tuesday night! As scandal rocked hollywood, fun rocked Barrel and Ashes in NoHo as 5 teams competed in another killer night of trivia.

One Lone Boi + Girl, Blaine/Greg/Shira, and The Employees kept a TIGHT race for third place. Their scores were within one point until the 6th round when Blaine/Greg/Shira pulled away. They also provided some amazing custom superhero drawings for the drinking round, posted below!

The first and second place spots were fought for by Sister Act 2: The Road Warrior and Pacific Courier who after tying in the first round kept a constant two-point distance from each other. That is... until round five.

Pacific Courier took the lead after round five, only to give it up by ONE point for round six.

(Then commenced a drinking round, won by Pacific Courier)

When we returned for the final round and the scores were tallied THERE WAS A TIE, BABAY! 75 points a piece. Something this young host has never seen.

Then came the tie breaking question -- "How old was Kobe Bryant when he started his first NBA game." The answers. Both had 18 years, but Pacific Courier had the closer amount of days and they took home the first prize and $25 to Barrel and Ashes!

Phew! Great night, pumped for the next one!
