In spite of some challenging rounds, we had a respectable group come out to play King Trivia, and just about everyone toughed it out to the very end, winning some Boondocks gift certificates and free alcohol along the way.
It was a close game between Hop On My Jetski and Knobheads until Round 5, when the Jetskis were so confident on all their toxic connections that they successfully doubled down, giving them a comfortable lead for the rest of the evening. Trebek's Rejects knew the most about Sean Connery and their double-M's, enough to achieve third place without putting forth any extra effort in Rounds 6 and 7. Their early resignation meant King Trivia virgins FBGM-Slinky got to take home the third place prize in spite of a fourth place ranking -- kudos to you guys!
Knobheads definitely scored tonight -- not only did they take home the second place prize, but when put to a vote by everyone in the bar, they won free Bud Light for having the best pickup line: "Did you just fart, 'cause you blew me away!" Incredibly applicable, as I just had my first sigmoidoscopy yesterday (not that you needed to know that, but my brazenness shouldn't come as a surprise to you, either).
Special shout outs to El Guapo and Beer Me, who weren't so confident, but still did pretty well, and had fun along the way.
