About Brewyard Beer Company

Brewyard Beer Co. is a new Craft Brewery & Taproom in Glendale, CA. We specialize in Californian "Aled" Lagers. The most well known of this hybrid style is the California Common (A.K.A Steam Beer). We offer 8 of these hybrid beers currently: Soul Cal (California Common), Imposter Syndrome (India Pale Ale'd Lager), Black Sunrise (Black Ale'd Lager), The Smoking Redhead (Smoked Irish Red Ale'd Lager), Sunday Morning (Pale Ale'd Lager), Sunday Morning Joe (Ethiopia Yirgecheffe Coffee infused Pale Ale'd Lager) & Perky DIPL (Double India Pale Ale'd Lager). We also have a very popular Saison brewed with Passion Fruit, A Basil Belgian Single and a Belgian Dubbel.

"I...I love the colorful clothes she wears and the way the sunlight plays upon her hair..."

Those of a certain age, and trivia lovers of all descriptions, might recognize the opening lines of the classic "Good Vibrations" which we played tonight during our weekly quiz at The Brewyard Beer Company in Burbank, in memory of the genius singer/songwriter Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys.

It wasn't part of tonight's quiz. Several quizinators in attendance were nonetheless able to identify the hands free musical "instrument" that gives the song its unique sound as a theremin.

The theremin in an electronic device controlled without making physical contact with it. Invented by a Russian named Leon Theremin in 1919, it's been used to produce eerie, otherworldly sounds perfect for horror movies and suspenseful moments in all sorts of ways.

Wilson used it to great effect in Good Vibrations,  and we mourn the passing today of this one-of-a-kind musical legend. Rest in Peace, Brian. Your music lives on.

We congratulate Cereal Killers on their impressive comeback-from-behind win on the strength of a successful Round 7 double that thwarted the competition. Well done, friends.
