It was a night of goodbyes and new beginnings. QM Dave was on hand to pass on the torch to QM Gabbi.
As for the game itself, the teams were ready for competition - and competition there was. After Dutch painter Rembrandt made a mess of Round 1 with some early unsuccessful double-or-nothings (turns out Van Gogh did not paint The Night Watch), the teams came back with a vengeance in a Round 2 all about game shows. Skirts and Jerks took first place after a successful Round 2 double-or-nothing, followed closely by SaZu.
But the night was young. Round 3 brought a successful DoN from Alcoholocausts, pushing them into second place.
Nic Cage was no mystery to a lot of teams, as three teams got 10 points on Round 4. It was here that Alcoholocausts made it into first place - and never let up the rest of the night.
In the end, friendships were tested, life-long enemies were formed, and a new Quizmaster was warmly welcomed to the family.
The night ended with a traditional knighting ceremony where former QM Dave gave all the powers of the Quizmaster to Gabbi. She will carry the torch for ages to come.
