August 7th at College Bar & Grill 3 teams tested their skills in trivia as they competed for their chances to win this weeks special prizes. The teams were Pitter Patter, I'm Not Picky, and Full Mooners. Our special prizes were to celebrate my own birthday on August 6th, I picked up a few things at the Dollar Store for our top 3 winners to take their pick from! Lucky for each of them that there were only 3 teams playing last night!

Each of our teams did fairly well in the First General Knowledge Round. The most commonly missed question in this round asked who served as President of the U.S. immediately prior to Andrew Jackson. After adding points for team numbers and correct answers in the round; we had Full Mooners in first with 7 points, Pitter Patter in second with 6 points, and I'm Not Picky in third with 5 points. Certainly a close game to start off with!

Our Round 2 Picture Round asked the teams to identify the images of pro-golfers. A majority of the teams seem to be very familiar with golf, the least amount of questions missed was just 1!

As we moved into Round 3 the teams grumbled a bit after hearing the theme was about dust or people winning a competition but in the end each of our teams did very well! My personal favorite missed question asked what meteorological event was at the center of The Grapes of Wrath, to which 1 of the teams responded with "the coming of Jesus". At the end of Round 3 I'm Not Picky moved into first place with 17 points, Pitter Patter remained in second now with 16 points while Full Mooners moved to third place now with 13 points.

In Round 4 the teams were asked to identify a mystery location. Teams I'm Not Picky and Full Mooners both placed their guesses after the second clue, unfortunately they each missed a point for putting down the wrong answer. Pitter Patter waited until the third clue to place their answer, a wise choice as the clue specified we were looking for a school this round. Pitter Patter correctly guessed University of Oxford and was able to earn 6 extra points for their team.

Round 5 was our Find the Connection round. Team Full Mooners decided to play their Double or Nothing in this round, lucky for them this worked out! They were able to earn a total of 20 points for their team in this German word round! I'm Not Picky also got all of the answers correct in this round, however they did not play their Double or Nothing. By this point in the game Full Mooners moved back up to first place now with 32 points total, in second was Pitter Patter with 29 points, and in third we had I'm Not Picky with 26 points.

Round 6 asked the teams to match the song titles to their missing fruit included in the name. All 3 of our teams missed the same single question in this round, and each of them put the same wrong answer for the question! Instead of "Blueberry Hill" they each wrote "Cherry Hill".

Our final question in Round 7 asked the teams to name the current player tokens that come with a standard U.S. Monopoly game. Unfortunately many teams are not familiar with the new player tokens that now include a penguin, rubber ducky, and a t-rex in place of our classic favorites of the boot, thimble, and wheelbarrow. Teams Pitter Patter and I'm Not Picky played their Double or Nothing in this final round, and unfortunately this did not end up working out for them.

By the end of the game in third place we had I'm Not Picky with 37 points, who walked away with their very own Etch-A-Sketch as their winnings. In second place with 40 points was Pitter Patter, who after much debate due to the sensitive nature of Monopoly now having a t-rex game piece chose to walk out with their very own stuffed t-rex. Finally, in first place with 46 points we had Full Mooners, who walked out with their own slime making kit.

Thank you to everyone who came out! Join us again next week to see who wins the $100 cash prize!
