Showcasing a blend of San Diego and coastal California selections with out-of-state brews to boot, the tap system at Common Theory features a rotating selection of over 30 craft beers on tap. With the variety of brews paired with a knowledgeable staff, beer aficionados and craft beer newbies are sure to find a new brew! Displayed on the chalkboard overlooking the tap system, cozy up to the bar for a brew or find refuge at a multitude of communal tables and couches. Revolving around the theory of simplicity, the kitchen at the beer-centric eatery doles out cuisine inspired by the diversity of California. The global menu features Duck Fat Fries (in three mouthwatering sizes), Buffalo Cauliflower, and a hearty bowl of polenta topped with crispy pork belly and shredded duck confit. It’s pub-style food with an upscale twist, a perfect pairing with a cold glass of beer!

It was King Trivia's first night of trivia at Common Theory Public House. What a great venue to host trivia in Mira Mesa, San Diego. The open and homey atmosphere of the gastropub has a great selection of beers and a unique menu, perfect for some mind challenging trivia.

We had 14 new teams, hopefully they will register for weekly play. Two teams doubled or nothing the first round and hit it, both Team Ramrod and team Tron giving them both big leads, but both teams dropped out after the 4th round, leaving early. Still finishing in fourth and sixth place respectfully overall despite not playing anymore rounds.

It was team Thai Curry....Me out of here, who took home the first place prize of a $20 gift card to Common Theory with a total overall score of 63. Hitting the double or nothing on both the second and final rounds helped tremendously. Team Tetrahedral Earth Society wasn't far behind, taking home the second place prize of a $15 gift card to Common Theory with an overall score of 53 with only one double or nothing round hit in round six.

Team Animal Style finished third overall with a score of 44, taking home a free T-shirt with no double or nothing chances, just consistent scoring in all rounds.

Congrats to all the teams and thanks for participating in King Trivia at Common Theory Public House where the beer is always cold and we can challenge your mind through brain teasing questions each Tuesday night at 8pm.
