Did you ever wonder what is underneath the stage at Founder's Ale House? I mean, it's a HUGE stage! What purpose does it serve (I mean besides hosting bands and other acts)? Well, I got a glimpse inside the crawlspace when one of the Founding Fathers of Founders opened up the access door. I couldn't believe my eyes! Before I could even question what?!/where?!/when?!/why?!, a few Interrobang Gang members clambered out through the small opening and took their usual table near the stage. Upon further inspection, it seemed that the area underneath the stage was some sort of club house. There were cases of Coors Banquet, some kegs, and many crumpled up Cheetos bags. It was an amazing sight. It took me a second to figure out but I realized that this secret hideout must be how the Interrobang Gang gets the same table every Tuesday Trivia Night. They come in on Monday night, sneak under the stage, wait til all the Founders staff leave, and chill until the next business day. As soon as Kevin opens the bar's doors at 4pm, the Interrobang Gang is at their table. They are a dedicated team for sure. A team who also won the second place prize tonight! They successfully doubled down twice, keeping pace with all the other usual suspects. What helped set them apart from the rest of the teams was their knowledge of band member names. They crushed round number 7 and clinched the $25 bar credit.
Earlier on in the night, Presidential Approval Rating (pictured) got ahead of Interrobang Gang by hitting more of the comedian names in the connection round. This small 4 point lead kept shrinking as we neared the final round. Presidential Approval Rating held on as tight as they could and ended up beating Interrobang Gang by 2 points. A very close game, but definitely a solid first win for Presidential Approval Rating. Congratulations!
All of this excitement plus a 3rd place tie breaker?! Whoa! Things were out of control last night! Smarter Not Harder and Master of None were tied at 61, but only one group could win the Coors Banquet. A simple question about Lincoln's Gettysburg Address settled it all. Master of None guessed that there were 6 letter "U" in the aforementioned speech. Smarter Not Harder guessed 77. Master of None won it due to "Price is Right" rules (21 letter U's in Lincoln's speech!).
Thanks again to everyone who came out and played! It was a fun night! I'll see you all under Founder's stage next Monday night! Cheers!
