Grunions Sports Bar & Grill is a South Bay local landmark. It’s been a local’s favorite spot to watch any major (and even minor) sporting event while eating the best pub food around. It all started in 1974 when Grunions Sports Bar & Grill opened its doors in Manhattan Beach, CA. The mission then, as it is today, was to provide a place where people can go and enjoy great food and drinks while cheering on their favorite sports teams, in a comfortable (and family friendly) environment where everyone is treated like a regular even if it’s their first visit. Grunions was kind enough to welcome me as a guest quizmaster for Tuesday night trivia. This group came out swinging with every team doubling down in round 1. At least half the teams doubled down in rounds 2 and 3 as well. RIP Bill Paxton emerged from the pack after these early double down rounds. Starting in round 5, Quiztopher Walker doubles down 3 rounds in a row for a total of 60 late game points to win it with an impressive 92 point total. RIP Bill Paxton faltered and fell to 4th behind Team Plutonium and Team Daddy
