A eulogy for Heritage Pizza

It was an incredibly emotional experience for the final game at heritage Pizza. For the past (almost) 2 years hosting at this venue has been the highlight of my week. I've looked forward to it, and these weirdos started out as just strangers but overtime we've gotten to know each other and we've become a little trivia family. I could say so many great things about each team that has become regulars at this game. Team clown baby after months of trying finally came in first place. TBD is a wonderfully sweet and caring family who are dang good at the find the connection round they were the only ones to get Stratego pieces this week. Can't stop the feeling were so nice to me every single week and it was so nice to see them. Not to mention the very nice texts I've gotten from teams who couldn't make it when the word got out. And the team that started it all, who were there with me since my very first game, the team who managed to win best team name this season, the team that relentlessly mocks my taste in movies and sports teams, the Jedi Knights who say Ni well scarecrow I'll think I'll miss you the most. Also despite the news being so sudden I'm very grateful to the staff at Heritage Pizza who put up with my awkward theater kid energy for the past 2 years. We may no longer have trivia at this venue and we'll certainly try to get another one soon, but the friendships that we made along the way have been the biggest gift to me over the past two years. It didn't matter who won or game in last place we always had such a fun welcoming environment people came back every week. To everyone who made hosting trivia here such a joy ever week I just say thank you and I'll see you when I see you.
