QUIZ RECAP

If you were anywhere else than Idle Hour this Tuesday night, you missed out on one of the greatest trivia shows in history. 

18 teams jumped headfirst into the murkey, prize-laden waters of King Trivia, hoping to snag a sweet prize in our first show since Daylight Savings. You'd think energy would be low with so many people confronting the time change, but this was anything but a lethargic show. 

We had TWO dogs...'nuff said. 

Returning champs met with newbie passersby to form a gridiron of epic proportions. Just a single round in and we had an eight-way tie of double trouble teams. And then two rivals decided to leap away from the competition. 

Quiz Kid Donnie Smith and Sidehug Improv brought large teams to bear, and they were playing for keeps. Each round, these two well-oiled machines cranked out top-notch trivia knowledge.  They were so on the money, this QM had to do some sneaky walk bys to ensure there was no funny business. As it turns out, these were just some smart cookies. 

By the time we reached the Drinking Round, it seemed like our top two spots were already locked in. 

For the free drinks, we invited the teams to show off a photo from their phone of a celebrity. The winner (chosen by Idle Hour's own Lila) was Kingbeez and a picture of Always Sunny's Glen Howerton! Those drinks kept the team happy...and started a seismic shift in the game. 

By the end of Round 5, we had a dedicated leader with Quiz Kid. But those doubles slowed down, and now the lower ranking teams clawed their way back toward the top. By the time we reached Round seven, the top ten were within spitting distance of the grand prize. 

Our List Round proved the ultimate challenge, with only 9 questions separating the winners and...not winners. Sidehug earned a solid third place, with Quiz Kid only one point ahead. But it was a hail mary double down by Raystar Woyco that jumped them all the way into first place!
