About Longship Brewery

Since the 9th century, the Viking longship has been a symbol and a vessel of exploration, trade, and cultural exchange. The pride of the nordic people was their ability to cross the oceans in ways that no other people had done before. With the curiosity of the unknown, this guided them to uncover the world's riches, solidifying their place in history.

It was a beautiful summer day as the June gloom finally burnt off and gave us sunshine. In that basking glow, ten teams showcased their trivia smarts.

Once the beer flowed, the answer sheets were handed in, the scores were tallied, and the doggos received their pets, we had our top three teams:

1st: 4 Norsemen of the Apocolypse

2nd: Dam Mad

3rd: Shortboat Winery

Shortboat Winery also impressed in the beer round. In honor of the anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, we asked how many Confederate infantrymen participated in Pickett's Charge, according to the National Park Service. They estimate it was about 12,500 men, and quite impressively, Shortboat Winery guessed: 12,742 - only 242 off. Wow.

Also in the "Wow" category was the Moops guess, of 11,764.73 - not sure where the decimal came from, but it was also pretty close. Well done.

Speaking of Anniversaries, this coming Saturday (July 6th) is Longship Brewery's 3rd Anniversary and they are having an event. Tickets are available online, and they will be debuting new custom mugs, new beers, and having armor/combat demonstrations, so make sure to come check it out.
