About Mudrock's Tap & Tavern

Once you walk through our door, you’re with friends. Locally owned and family operated, Mudrock’s Tap and Tavern brings the best of life’s simple pleasures together so you can relax, relate and share good times with us.

From breakfast biscuits to delicious burgers, wings and everything in between, we use fresh, natural ingredients and source from neighbors whenever possible. We’re constantly tapping and trying beer and most likely, have your favorites on one of our 30 taps.   And yes, the game is always on one of 32 HD screens equipped with every major sports package.

The Mudrock name encapsulates the affinity we have for sports and our town’s community spirit and history. Local Louisville hard-working coal miners and their families loved playing baseball during summer when it was too hot to mine and, being far from pro teams, formed their own clubs. One player, Phil Mudrock, made it to the majors and signed as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in 1963. According to the Lousiville Times, he signed his contract right here behind the Miners Field backstop.

Not too bad. And as we like it, not too fancy. Just right.

A fun night, and a good game tonight at Mudrock's; some familiar faces were here but it was the first-timers who won the night! #momjeans were high scorers in Round 1 (6 of a possible 6) and in Round 3 (6 of a possible 6) to lead early; Jetstars started well but missed on a double in Round 3 and took a -1 in the Guess Who round to (seemingly) drop out of the running. Newcomers Preparation HH did the almost impossible: they became only the 3rd team in the more than 5 years that I've hosted to get the Guess Who answer correctly for 10 points!! That moved them ahead of #momjeans....until the ladies passed them in the Find The Connection round with 10 out a possible 10 to move back in front by a single point.  BUT...Jetstars hit a double in that round for 20 points to move back into within 4 points of the leaders; yep, only 4 points separated all 4 teams after five rounds! #momjeans were high scorers in Round 6 (9 of a possible 10) and led by 2 entering the last round...only to be overtaken by our winners, Preparation HH (9 of a possible 10) to win by a point.  Great finish, great game, great night.  See you all next week!
