About Mudrock's Tap & Tavern

Once you walk through our door, you’re with friends. Locally owned and family operated, Mudrock’s Tap and Tavern brings the best of life’s simple pleasures together so you can relax, relate and share good times with us.

From breakfast biscuits to delicious burgers, wings and everything in between, we use fresh, natural ingredients and source from neighbors whenever possible. We’re constantly tapping and trying beer and most likely, have your favorites on one of our 30 taps.   And yes, the game is always on one of 32 HD screens equipped with every major sports package.

The Mudrock name encapsulates the affinity we have for sports and our town’s community spirit and history. Local Louisville hard-working coal miners and their families loved playing baseball during summer when it was too hot to mine and, being far from pro teams, formed their own clubs. One player, Phil Mudrock, made it to the majors and signed as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in 1963. According to the Lousiville Times, he signed his contract right here behind the Miners Field backstop.

Not too bad. And as we like it, not too fancy. Just right.

Another good one at Mudrock's tonight, featuring a very tight finish!  No fewer than 4 of the 6 teams were successful in their double-or-nothing bids for 12 points out of the gate: Dry Heaves, Leaky Wine Bag, Jetstars, and Taylor's Version (Red Rockets got 'em all right for 6).  Dry Heaves outscored Taylor's Version and Red Rockets by a point (8 to 7) in Round 2 and those 3 were bunched together for most of the night.  Unusually, every team correctly answered the Guess Who question this week (Dry Heaves, Taylor's Version and Jetstars each scored 8), and Red Rockets and Dry Heaves moved a tick ahead of the field with 9 of a possible 10 in the Find The Connection round.  Controversy erupted when Dry Heaves double-or-nothing bid was turned into a zero over Voldemort not being the accepted answer to match "life force expended"; they dropped out of the running and eventually accepted the quizmaster's ruling that a curse was the direct cause of death. Taylor's Version and Red Rockets each scored 7 to move into 2nd and 1st respectively, their eventual finishing positions; Jetstars finished one point out of the money, with Dry Heaves 3 points back in 4th.  A tip of the hat to The Cask for a consistent performance start to finish.  See you all next week!
