About Mudrock's Tap & Tavern

Once you walk through our door, you’re with friends. Locally owned and family operated, Mudrock’s Tap and Tavern brings the best of life’s simple pleasures together so you can relax, relate and share good times with us.

From breakfast biscuits to delicious burgers, wings and everything in between, we use fresh, natural ingredients and source from neighbors whenever possible. We’re constantly tapping and trying beer and most likely, have your favorites on one of our 30 taps.   And yes, the game is always on one of 32 HD screens equipped with every major sports package.

The Mudrock name encapsulates the affinity we have for sports and our town’s community spirit and history. Local Louisville hard-working coal miners and their families loved playing baseball during summer when it was too hot to mine and, being far from pro teams, formed their own clubs. One player, Phil Mudrock, made it to the majors and signed as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in 1963. According to the Lousiville Times, he signed his contract right here behind the Miners Field backstop.

Not too bad. And as we like it, not too fancy. Just right.

A great turnout, a great game, a great time at Mudrock's tonight! No fewer than 3 teams hit successful double-or-nothings in Round 1: Dry Heaves, Aggie Oneida and Jetstars.  Colorado Avocados were high scorers in Round 2 with 8 of a possible 10; hats off to Leaky Wine Bag, who scored 7 in that round WHILE still covering his shift. Dry Heaves and Aggie Oneida each took a 0 in Round 3 (they would bounce back), but the big noise of the night was in the Guess Who round. I've been a quizmaster for 5 years, and tonight Taylor's Version became only the 4th team in any game I've run to correctly Guess Who for 10 points; gentlemen, I salute you!

Meanwhile, back at the game...Dry Heaves scored 10 of a possible 10 (the only team to correctly Find The Connection) in Round 5, and they held on to finish 1st.  Aggie Oneida were caught at the finish line by Taylor's Version, necessitating a tiebreaker round for 2nd place (and the $ that go with it!). Taylor's Version were closer to take 2nd, followed by Aggie Oneida, Colorado Avocados, and Jetstars.  Thanks to all who came out tonight, see you all next week!
