About Mudrock's Tap & Tavern

Once you walk through our door, you’re with friends. Locally owned and family operated, Mudrock’s Tap and Tavern brings the best of life’s simple pleasures together so you can relax, relate and share good times with us.

From breakfast biscuits to delicious burgers, wings and everything in between, we use fresh, natural ingredients and source from neighbors whenever possible. We’re constantly tapping and trying beer and most likely, have your favorites on one of our 30 taps.   And yes, the game is always on one of 32 HD screens equipped with every major sports package.

The Mudrock name encapsulates the affinity we have for sports and our town’s community spirit and history. Local Louisville hard-working coal miners and their families loved playing baseball during summer when it was too hot to mine and, being far from pro teams, formed their own clubs. One player, Phil Mudrock, made it to the majors and signed as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in 1963. According to the Lousiville Times, he signed his contract right here behind the Miners Field backstop.

Not too bad. And as we like it, not too fancy. Just right.

A great game tonight at Mudrocks! Sitzpinklers hit a successful double-or-nothing in Round 1 but were eclipsed when The Even Primes converted a double of their own in Round 2; those two traded places in 1st and 2nd positions all night. Jetstars hung in there for much of the night (they were high scorers with 6 in the Guess Who round) as did #momjeans, whose successful double in Round 5 thrust them into contention late.  At this point I must acknowledge first-timers Stinkbeetles, who had all of 2 points after 4 rounds but also converted a double for 20 points in Round 5 - well done! A tip of the hat to Beer Battered and newbies Space Kittenz, who were steady throughout and finished respectably, tied for 5th.   Capybara Manor, on the other hand, kept hammering the "double" button, with regrettable results but stuck around all night - thanks for being here, fellas!  In the end, Sitzpinklers scored 20 - 6 in the final two rounds to ease past The Even Primes by 4 points; both teams were great tonight, congratulations! See you next week, everybody!
