About Mudrock's Tap & Tavern

Once you walk through our door, you’re with friends. Locally owned and family operated, Mudrock’s Tap and Tavern brings the best of life’s simple pleasures together so you can relax, relate and share good times with us.

From breakfast biscuits to delicious burgers, wings and everything in between, we use fresh, natural ingredients and source from neighbors whenever possible. We’re constantly tapping and trying beer and most likely, have your favorites on one of our 30 taps.   And yes, the game is always on one of 32 HD screens equipped with every major sports package.

The Mudrock name encapsulates the affinity we have for sports and our town’s community spirit and history. Local Louisville hard-working coal miners and their families loved playing baseball during summer when it was too hot to mine and, being far from pro teams, formed their own clubs. One player, Phil Mudrock, made it to the majors and signed as a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs in 1963. According to the Lousiville Times, he signed his contract right here behind the Miners Field backstop.

Not too bad. And as we like it, not too fancy. Just right.

Wow, what a game tonight at Mudrock's! No fewer than 3 teams converted successful double-or-nothing tries in Round 1 (Jetstars, Taylor's Version & The Even Primes) and The Even Primes followed that up with another double in Round 2 for 16 points and the early lead.  The Even Primes were in fact high scorers in Round three as well (6 of a possible 6) and they led all the way through Round 5.  First-timers 3 Blind Mice and The Gurts played well but were taken out of the running by a -1 in the Guess Who round. When The Even Primes were unsure about doubling in Round 6 and "only" scored 10 (of a possible 10), they were overtaken by Jetstars and Taylor's Version, each of whom successfully doubled (along with 3 Blind Mice, The Gurts and Beer Battered, who vaulted into 4th place). Entering the final round, Jetstars and The Even Primes were tied for 1st, a single point ahead of Jetstars.  Jetstars were high scorers with 9 while Taylor's Version scored 8 (Even Primes tallied 6)...leaving Jetstars and Taylor's version in a flat-footed tie for 1st and necessitating the tiebreaker question.  Incredibly, Jetstars nosed out Taylor's Version by A SINGLE POINT to win the night...whew!  Lookung forward to next week!
